Covid-19 has taken a toll on all of us. I know friends and neighbors who have battled depression. Me too. Even during good times depression is widespread. And physical ailments plague many of us as well. What can you do? You can build an emergency fund and buy disability insurance. When should you do it? Now. Consider how likely it is that you and your partner will make it to retirement age without a serious mental or physical ailment. What’s the worst that could happen if you save too much or save too early? Not much. An ounce of prevention… You don’t want to be caught by surprise. And this kind of surprise is really nasty.
