Now that the pandemic is beginning to wane, it seems reasonable to take some risks. After two years of Covid isolation we want to travel. To plan trips, some are using what for them is a novel approach; they are using travel agents and tour operators.Long before the pandemic started, travel agencies were disappearing as automation and the internet enabled people to plan trips by themselves. But the pandemic has helped breathe new life into travel agencies and tour operators because the services they provide are even more valuable with a pandemic to contend with. They offer valuable services such as helping clients navigate Covid restrictions and helping singles find suitable groups to travel with.
One tour operator, Overseas Adventure Travel, says 85% of its solo travelers are women. Single women, especially millennials, are eager to end their isolation and travel again, but they want help planning trips and they don’t want to travel alone. That’s where tour operators and travel agents help, providing singles trips that not only enable them to travel, but also to make friends with whom they can bond and make memories. Women also like the safety that comes with traveling with a group and dislike the stigma that follows a woman traveling alone. It’s encouraging that, with all the bad news we’ve had over the past two years, there are some hopeful signs that things are returning to normal. Hooray for women! They are exploring the world again.
Do you have a trip planned? Are you using the services of a tour operator or a travel agent? Do you enjoy traveling alone? Did Covid-19 ruin any trips that you had planned?
