A debate rages on whether they are good or bad, but stock buybacks are at record highs. Firms may buy their own stock back because it’s a bargain or the firm’s outlook is bright. This reduces the number of shares outstanding, increasing earnings per share (EPS) and enticing investors. A ray of hope. Of course, the smartest way to invest is to buy regularly and automatically (e.g., via your employer’s retirement savings plan). #stockmarkets #investingstrategy #wealthbuilding
