Forbes calls Investopedia https://lnkd.in/eJBav_pY “the world’s leading source of financial content on the web.” It’s a great resource. Investopedia made a list of the 10 riskiest investments. Stocks are not on that list; probably because there are much riskier investments than stocks, especially for long term investors. Cryptocurrencies are not on the list either. Why? Probably because Investopedia (and many other reputable financial authorities) doesn’t consider cryptocurrencies a legitimate investment. Jeremy Grantham, co-founder and chief investment strategist of Grantham, Mayo, & van Otterloo, says cryptocurrencies are like the emperor’s new clothes. They are “…pitched as amazing and complex, but there is nothing underneath the facade.” Long term Investors have good reason to expect a profit. Cryptocurrency buyers, on the other hand, might make money, but they are more likely to lose money, and could very well lose everything. #cryptocurrency#stockmarketinvesting#investing#riskmanagement
